The Wedding dress
“I wore a Pronovias princess ball gown with a full lace layered skirt and a strapless neckline edged with delicate tulle”

“My bridesmaids wore a One shoulder full-length lux chiffon dress in Suede Rose”
Invitations
“We went with Willow Lane Stationary. I wanted something different but still very classic and not over the top. Our invitations were classic white with silver ribbon that came in a pocket envelope along with an information card and RSVP card inside”
Flowers
“I had a beautiful all white posy of white peonies, white david austins roses, white posy lithianthus and white ranunculas. My bridesmaids had a beautiful posy of antique roses, sahara roses and white david Austin roses to go nicely with the colour of their dress”
Ceremony
“My year 1 students stood in a guard of honour as I walked down the aisle and exited the church. It brought tears to my eyes. The song I walked down the aisle to was “what a wonderful world” by Louis Armstrong. I always saw myself walking down the aisle to that beautiful song. We also had a candle ceremony which was nice to get both our parents involved. Our ring bearer lost both our rings that was only discovered by the bestman just before I walked down the aisle. Luckily my father found it as we started walking down the aisle and handed it to Mark. It was pretty funny that my father ended up being our ring bearer. I had one of my year 1 students draw a picture of her impression of a wedding and had this printed on the first page of our order of service which represents my love of teaching.”
Reception
“We wanted to include Mark’s Syrian culture somehow but didn’t want it taking over so we decided to enter our reception to Arabic drums. Everyone joined in and danced around us. To this day, our friends still comment that that was the best entrance to a wedding they’d ever seen. It was really important to me that we do something exciting for our bridal waltz so Mark agreed to do dance lessons leading up to the big day. We had choreographed a routine to “Time of our life” which included a lift. It went perfectly and had everyone cheering. Considering Mark does not dance…ever, the dance was the biggest surprise! To be different and because Mark is obsessed with football, we decided to do “toss the football” instead of the bouquet. Most of our guests are married so we made it for both the single boys and girls.”
Decorations
“Zest is already so beautiful that we didn’t really need to do much. I had white flowers and candles on the tables.”
Favours
“I wanted to do something different so we did a nice box of chocolates from Belle Fleur Fine Chocolates and also a “survival Kit” which included a mini can of coke, bandaids, panadol, mints and a Mc Donalds cheeseburger voucher. They were a HUGE hit!”
Wedding cake
“Our wedding cake was 3 tiered with white fondant icing. We had three different layers: caramel and chocolate, vanilla and cherry and dark chocolate. It was decorated with fresh flowers.”
