The Wedding dress
“It was a Romona Keveza Gown which I purchased from Kleinfeld in New York City. It was a mermaid style gown with an asymmetric neckline, empire waist in silk satin featuring a bow that tied at the back. It had a sweep train and I wore a plain netted birdcage headpiece.”
Bridesmaids’ dresses
“My bridesmaids looked stunning! They each wore the “Suzannah” purchased from Bridesmaids Only in a champagne colour. The floor length gown was strapless with a sweetheart neckline made from a stunning 100% silk. Organising my wedding from New York, I thought it would be difficult to find and order bridesmaids dresses. However they were the easiest thing, thanks to the gorgeous girls at Bridesmaids Only who made everything so easy! One of my bridesmaids was nearly 8 months pregnant and her dress was easily altered to fit perfectly.”
Invitations
“My invitations were designed and printed at Willow Lane, Double Bay. They were cream/neutral in colour and featured a ribbon with a small pearl in the middle. I also ordered matching RSVP / thank you cards. Simple and elegant.”
Flowers
“My flowers were a bouquet of white peonies, white freesias, David Austin white roses, camellia leaf and iceberg rose. My Bridesmaids each carried a bouquet of pale pink peonies, pieris, white Freesias, iceberg roses and white field roses with camellia foliage.”
Ceremony
“Our ceremony was extra special as I had my 80-year-old Great Uncle Fr Jim officiate us. He is so important to me and to have him marry us was truly amazing.”
Reception
“Our reception was so much fun and everyone had such a fabulous time. Our wedding dance was ‘Beneath You’re Beautiful’ – Labrinth, which was a favourite song of ours. Our amazing photographer Jeremy Byrnes captured the whole day wonderfully.”
Decorations
“The Royal Motor Yacht Club is such a stunning venue that it really didn’t need too many decorations. In keeping to my theme of simple elegance, I opted for a one square vase, two small individual glass vases and four tea lights candles on each table. The vases were full of David Austin pale pink roses, white field roses, iceberg roses, white freesias and pieris which complemented our bouquets nicely.”
Favours
“Our favours were a macaroon nestled in a little box which complimented our invitations. We also used them for table seating – each macaroon had the guest’s name and table number on it so they could walk in, pick up a macaroon and sit at any seat on their table. They were also designed and created from Willow Lane, Double Bay.”
Wedding cake
“We chose a three tier wedding cake with a different flavour for each tier because they all tasted so good! We decided on chocolate, caramel and vanilla/coconut with a buttercream frosting. Our florist decorated the cake with fresh flowers that complimented our bouquets and the reception table flowers.”
