The Wedding dress
“My dress was a Maggie Sottero “Lavina” gown. Sweetheart neckline, beautiful lace design and quite fitted”
Bridesmaids’ dresses
“My bridesmaids gowns were all purchased from Bridesmaids Only. I had 3 bridemaids and the dresses were all the same, lovely floor length gowns with one shoulder strap. We decided on the shell print design, which was something different that we all loved! The pattern, design and colour suited the girls perfectly, they looked absolutely STUNNING, and suited the theme of the wedding so well.”
Invitations
“My invitations and all stationery were designed by my talented bridesmaid Kizzie. We sent out save the date cards in a pocket style with sand in a glass (the sand was collected from our ceremony site too). The wedding invites themselves, were packeted in brown boxes and the invites were stacked together using twine and had a starfish on top, suiting our beachside theme. Kizzie had an exceptional talent of reading my mind for everything and everything she did from placecards, to menus, thankyou notes was just perfect.”
Flowers
“Our bouquets were lovely! We all had a mix of Prince Albert Roses. The girls had Ivory coloured bouquets with a hint of colour that complemented their dresses and I have more colour than ivory flowers. The groom and groomsmen all wore a boutonniere with a single coloured rose.”
Ceremony
“We were married on my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary so that was extremely special! Walking down the aisle with my Dad was so special and seeing Pauls face for the first time! It was such a surreal feeling getting ready to walk and seeing all your loved ones all in the one place.”
Reception
“We had our guests go on a cruise from our ceremony venue to the reception venue. They had canapes and drinks along the Noosa River while we were getting our photos. The sunset was just magic that day. Our wedding song was ‘Ho Hey’ by the lumineers. We had a two course alternate drop meal with the wedding cake as dessert. I surprised my Dad with a father daughter dance which was Brown Eyed Girl which got everyone up dancing. For our guest book we had a polaroid camera that went around all the tables for people to take a photo of themselves and stick it in and leave a message.”
Decorations
“We hired First Class Functions to decorate the ceremony venue. We had a wooden arbour that we stood under that was decorated with flowers similar to our bouquet. We had some paper balloons in the trees and a rose covered aisle. Our reception decorations were kept pretty simple. White tablecloths with a neutral coloured runner. On that we had a fishbowl with vanilla scented candles on top of sand with starfish and bottled sand that we used with the invites. There was fairy lights decorating the poles in the room and the restaurant was on a river and the sunset was just beautiful.”
Favours
“I had macaroons in little brown boxes, the same colour as the ones the invites were in. We had a pink one to match the bridesmaids colours and also an ivory one. They were delicious. The boxes had a thankyou sticker on them.”
Wedding cake
” Our wedding cake was 3 tier, white chocolate mud, dark chocolate mud and marble. The middle tier had a lace design which the talented lady who made the cake matched to my dress. There were flowers on the cake which also matched the bridesmaid colours and twine around the cake to match as well. She also made for me 2 replica mini cakes to send to our grandparents who were unable to travel to be there for the day, they were fruit cakes.”
