This is not a dress you want to guess.

A mother's dress has to do more than look beautiful online. It has to work beside the bridal party. It has to feel right next to the gown. It has to sit, move, photograph and last through the whole day. And it has to feel like you — just more considered.

Try Before You Buy lets you answer those questions at home before you commit.

The Wedding-Day Test

A dress has to pass more than the mirror.

Before you commit, try the dress the way you will actually wear it.

The Sit Test

Dinner, speeches, ceremony chairs and car rides.

The Hug Test

For congratulations, family photos and both arms around someone you love.

The Colour Test

Check the dress beside the bridal party colour, flowers, shoes and accessories.

The Photo Test

See how the fabric, shimmer, sleeve and neckline behave in daylight and phone photos.

The 9pm Test

Because the dress should still feel good when the formal part is not quite over.

How it works

Four steps. No showroom rush.

Try the dress in the place where the decision actually happens.

Good to know

Frequently asked.

The details mothers usually want before they try.

How does Try Before You Buy work?

Choose eligible sample dresses from our Try Before You Buy range. We send them to your door, you try them at home for 7 days, then you return the samples and place your final dress order when you are ready.

Is this the actual dress I keep?

No. Try Before You Buy dresses are samples for fitting, colour and style confidence. Once you have chosen the dress you love, you place your final order separately.

How long do I have the samples for?

You have 7 days from delivery to try the dresses at home. This gives you time to test fit, colour, photos and styling without rushing.

How much does it cost?

Try Before You Buy starts from $25. Your try-on fee is credited towards your final full-price dress purchase when you order.

Is the Try Before You Buy fee refundable?

The try-on fee itself is not refunded as cash, but it is credited towards your final full-price dress order when you purchase.

Can I try more than one dress?

Yes. Trying more than one dress can be helpful if you are choosing between sizes, colours, sleeve options or levels of formality.

What if the exact colour is not available as a sample?

Not every style is available in every colour and size as a sample. If the exact colour is not available, we can help you choose the closest sample or arrange colour swatches where available.

Can I add colour swatches?

Yes, where available. Swatches are especially helpful if you are comparing your dress with bridesmaid colours, flowers or the wedding palette.

What should I wear when trying the dress?

Try it with the bra, shapewear, shoes and jewellery you are most likely to wear on the day. This gives you a much more accurate sense of fit and length.

What should I check during the try-on?

Check how the dress sits, how it feels when you sit down, whether the neckline and sleeves feel secure, how the colour photographs, and whether it feels right beside the wedding palette.

How do I return the samples?

Return the samples using Australia Post by the return date provided with your order. We recommend using a tracked service and keeping your tracking details.

What if I mark or damage a sample?

Try Before You Buy dresses are for home try-on only, not for events or wear outside the home. Light try-on wear is expected, but significant damage, staining or missing items may incur a fee.

What happens if I love one?

Place your final full-price dress order and your Try Before You Buy fee will be credited towards that purchase. Our team can help confirm size, colour and timing before you order.

Can your team help me choose what to try?

Yes. If you are unsure where to start, tell us your size, preferred colours, dress code, wedding date and whether you are mother of the bride or groom. We can help narrow the best samples to try first.

Ready?

Try the dress before the day asks for it.

For the mothers who got them here, the dress deserves more than a guess. Choose your samples, try them at home, and make the decision with calm.
